Tim O’reilly –the guy who coined the web 2.0 expression– has released a first draft of a blogger’s code of conduct partly due to the rise of cyber bullying (Check out this article about Kathy Sierra’s revelation)
Here are the different topics from the first draft:
We take responsibility for our own words and for the comments we allow on our blog.
We won't say anything online that we wouldn't say in person.
We connect privately before we respond publicly.
When we believe someone is unfairly attacking another, we take action.
We do not allow anonymous comments.
We ignore the trolls.
You can still comment and express you point of view about this first draft on this blog and wiki. Blogging is such a great platform to express ‘anything’ really that we need to care about it and defend it from people who don’t understand what freedom of speech is all about. I really like the way the Internet is establishing its own limits about free speech without conforming anyone.
